Subject: RE: John Deere 630 carb problem

Floyd County, Iowa
Not sure on the gas overfilling carb, but sounds like float issue. My 60 no longer has the auto-shutoff sediment bowl. Replaced twice with original, then got rid of it and went manual shutoff. Got real tired of changing engine oil because it filled the crankcase with gas. I think it (the gas) went back through the oil line. I did have the floats in the 60 and A go bad within 1 day of each other. Changed both needles and seats before I figured out it was floats (easy but not so cheap fix). In another instance, I couldn't get the 60 to run decent. Had to keep playing with screws on carb. Turned out to be the gasket between the intake manifold and head (cheap but not so easy fix).
