Eastern NC | Moorefarmer, I too am amazed at the way that some farmers are simply ignoring the palmer in their fields. I have battled them all year with everything that I can throw their way, including hand pulling and carrying them to the woods or road ditch. Some of my farms are completely weed free, others look like I have failed miserably. Consider yourself fortunate if you do not have them on your farms. All I can tell you is to prevent them from putting seed on the ground, no matter what you have to do to prevent it. I am confident that there are fields in this county that will have to be abandoned within two years because of poor management of the palmer. Try explaining that to your landlord.
