Osborne KS
In this area (North Central Kansas) fungicides can be cheap insurance. Depending on Mother Nature of course, fungicides can prove very beneficial. Preventatives such as Headline and Quadris are up there near $14-$15 this can be a little much for guys but you can put Stratego a preventative and a curative on for less than $8. Now if you know you have a problem you can apply some of the curatives for under $3. This thread was asking about beans, where here, fungus was not a problem but in wheat we had a 14 bu./Acre difference-treated versus not. The trouble was getting in to get it sprayed. Rained everyday. I quess my ramblings are trying to point out, it doesn't take much to pay for the chemical and the gain can be great. In a bad year, you could find yourself closing the gate after the cows get out.
