Clark SD | It depends on the year. This year was strange in our area. I can`t prove it yet but i think where there was residue left on top(not tilled) along with the snow cover we had , there was an insulating effect on the soil.
I think that held the temperature of the soil higher than the fall worked ground.
I had neigbors who planted corn on 4/12 and 4/21 who corn emerged a day ahead of ours which was no- till (with row cleaners) planted 5/5 into spring wheat stubble.
