Owosso MI | I have experience with High NRG N from Agro. Several years ago we went from dry fert to liquid fert. We went with High NRG N to see what their truth was in their product. On a dry fert program...we averaged 125-150 bu to the acre. Two years ago we averaged 175 bu to the acre on the same program as the dry fert program for half the money. This year has been a good test year again for High NRG N. We had a warm spring and went to the field in late april...we planted just ahead of the rain putting on High NRG N ahead of the planter and working it in with our triple K cultivator. It has a release agent in it and it released as the ground warmed. Our corn by July one was chest tall and is set to average over 180 bu to the acre this year. I will be using High NRG N for a long time.
Each year I sit down with my sales guy...who is a good agronomist and we do field study tests on new fields which can be done through agro to set the right gallons or quarts per acre for application. This year they have a fall fill program that we are working with because pricing is right. I have done my field tests and we are working to get application rates set. Soon we will have the numbers in hand and be ready to accept delivery of the new product.
I have personally been to the research farm at Agro in Michigan...they are doing quite a bit with strip till...this interests me quite a bit, as well as zone tillage/application and also with conventional no till and regular tillage.
They also do quite a bit of research with veggies and fert application.
However the company will explain at higher yield levels the 20% level is not always accurate in every soil type. Make sure to talk with someone in your area to find out what will work the best for you. | |
