Depends on your final tax rate. The demand for tax free munis is very high, and they tend to sell at a premium like 1.02 of face value especially when the coupon is 4.75% which I have found in the last year moving from big banks to munis. The Build America Bonds at 6.8% also sell at a 1.02 premium. It is nice when doing the tax return to have income that's double tax free, just in principle even if its not quite the greatest net income.
