 Westport, IN | First get an arial map and map all areas of crop damage from poor drainage. Make it as wide till you get to "good" crops. Measure somewhat accurately. These areas may not show again for several years. If it is a gentle wide basin I run all tiles parrallel with the flow. Remember two 6" tiles will flow aproximatly the flow of an 8". Also plan on neighbors adding to tile. I offer my neighbors an outlet to pattern tile if they pay for the upgrade. If they decline I still run a 4 " to the property line and install a breather. another benifit of parrallel lines is that they can be split to add capacity without destroying previous work. Properly GPS tile lines are a valuable tool for this. I have gps tile caps as points for future expansion and came back 4 years later and dug every cap and even managed to resue most of them. | |
