I think it would be logical to assume killing the stalks would help save moisture. Our milo will be ready to cut the next week or two, but the stalks will stay green all the way to frost. They will even try to put tillers out again if we get a little rain. Surely that is using moisture. Now if it uses enough to justify $2 worth or roundup, probably so I would say.
