South Africa
Solly
I farm near Newcastle in KZN, close to the Drakensberg. Planted canola for the first time this year, first for our area also. Planted the cultivar Hayola under center pivot in the first week of June. Had heavy frost in winter so the canola seemed to stand still, but realy took of from August. Problem is the no-till seems to be much worse than the conventional stuff, especially on the southern slopes. Should they still be able to grow and catch up or is it to late? Will canola still respond to n fertiliser after it sarted flowering or not, looks like some of the no-till are a bit short on N... Have no idea what so ever about canola. Spraying for aphids this week Aphox is the product that was recomended.
Will try to take some fotos and post tomorrow.TIA
