Rivers, MB | How is your crop? Have you been able to do any harvesting yet? If you have, how are the yields?
We have been harvesting for 5 weeks now and are about 2/3's done. Never had more than 3 days (and part days at that) of harvesting in a row and no more than 3 in a week. Everthing is coming off tough or damp (including the canola) so aeration fans are busy this year. Kind of frustrating but we are thankful we are as far as we are. Further east in the province, harvesting is generally further along albeit they are fighting some serious mud in the fields.
Yields have been variable. Peas were disappointing. spring was/is disappointing. Canola is slightly higher than what we were expecting. Overall, an average crop. Thankfully prices are on the higher side.
