Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Your right about self insuring but getting from here to there is the tricky part. If you could save up 5 years or so of premium without a loss you might do it. The insurance companies make it work.
During the last decade with several years of drought, crop insurance kept us a business and I recieved far more than I pasi in. In the last 3 years their catching up again!
You ask what insurance is for? It hopefully covers your costs to keep you in business. It's not made to be a profitable venture. Your covered pretty well at 85% coverage. If you dont' have a lot of losses, I feel 70-75% is a more affordable area to be covered at for the money spent. |
