Subject: Re: HRW Wheat planting conditions

Watrous, Saskatchewan
Seeded winter wheat here in Saskatchewan. started Aug. 30th. seeded into substantial moisture as we have had probably 5 times the normal rainfall. Seeded into chemfallow land which we never got seeded this spring. Was nice seeding conditions. Seeded 1/2 to 1" deep with 40 lbs 11-52 and 100 lbs 46-0-0 sidebanded. Most of its up and out of the ground but we received another 2 1/2 inches of rain recently and has added more sloughs to what we already had. Havent grown winter wheat in a few years but this is our option to get something seeded for next year as our land is gonna be very wet again next spring.
