Theoretically, conventional and stacked versions of the same pedigree should yield the same if there is no pressure from weeds, bugs or disease. Traits serve to protect yield, not enhance it, as its been explained to me. For me, its not unusual to find my refuge corn yielding with or beyond the stack. In others years, there has been a clear advantage to the traited corn. So much more research money is going into traited genetics, I'm afraid the conventionals have no choice but to fall behind, over time.
