I am fortunate that over half the ground I farm wasn't farmed until 1979 or later and some was not farmed for 10 years in crp as well. Not to mention a lot of alfalfa in the meantime. I could count on one hand the number of times some of them have seen tillage. A couple of the flat areas on a couple quarter-sections where homesteaders had their 20 acres of crops produced 30 bu less corn last year than the rest of the quarter. I'm sure glad they didn't try to farm the whole thing!
