We've done beans on beans several times, not much of a difference.

I remember once a guy I worked for planted beans in a field that was alfalfa/hay for quite a few years and found the hard way it had a lot of grubs in it. The beans didn't fare so well. This could have been an isolated incident? Or corrected if known ahead of time.
