SE Wisconsin | I wouldn't count out the whole trait package yet. I remember some yield drag when BT was introduced. Also, smart stax does not directly lead to more yield. The increased insect resistence and lower refuge requirement can lead to higher yield by less damaged corn. I am not surprised that in one plot in, one county, that your LG rep told you smart stax was beat by a RR hybrid. With no insect pressure and good growing conditions any corn can do well. You buy the traits to protect your investment, not to directly lead to higher yields. | |
