Mascoutah, Illinois | We could have hyperinflation in certain sectors and still be in a deflationary period until those prices are passed along to the consumer. A couple of examples would be a war in the Middle East which shuts down oil production and sends crude soaring into the $100 plus area for an extended period of time. The second would be a major drought in the grainbelt in 2011 which would take prices beyond the 2008 highs.
