We have a mileage guideline, but mainly we look for a beanfield next to a cornfield with a driveway close so we can safely pull off the road.
I have seen it go both ways where we stop at a field that is worse than the past few miles and the next time we may stop at a field that looks better than the past few miles. The thing is...it all averages out over the 80ish samples per day.
