Ohio | Sohio and Phillips owned a bunch of NH3 tanks in Ohio. They'ed put a 12,000 or 18,000 on your farm and you could sell ammonia to your neighbors. The catch was you had to buy product from the owner of the tanks. Then they offered to sell the tanks to the farmers with the pitch that they could buy from whomever they wanted too. So a bunch of guys who had never done business with anyone else all of a sudden owned their tanks. The problem was the companies they had done business with got out of selling ammonia and the supply was tight and most of these guys had no ability to buy from the other suppliers. | |
