Subject: RE: Who invented Strip Till?

Driftless SW Wisconsin

In my opinion, strip till was invented by Jim Kinsella of Lexington IL. Jim is a long time no-tiller in Lexington, IL who knifed nitrogen into bean stubble in the fall for corn the next year and had the idea of indexing the planter to the knife strips. Bingo. Strip till. Late 1980's?

I'm sure there are other possible "inventors" of strip till but in my opinion Jim was the first to really organize the system and publicly introduce it.

My vote is for Jim Kinsella.
