Ripon, WI | I remember 1993 all too well in NW Iowa. In addition to the short crop, the USDA came up with the 0-92 program where producers could destroy their crop for 92% of their proven yields. The crop we had then was terrible quality. We called it the "Less is more" crop, because the less that was harvested, the more you got and less you spent. I have thought about that crop many times this last year, quality wise anyway. My memory isn't the greatest, but I don't recall any huge upward swings that year. | |
