Mid-Michigan | You have a couple of options. I've been doing crap like what your facing all my life. Sounds as if you have tile already. Is the hole so low that a hickenbottom can't be used to existing tile? An expensive route is a pump station. Another route is to simply fill that hole with dirt. I had to fill a 4 acre hole 2 feet higher to be able to tile it without pumping. This took me 2 years and a lot of money. I took all the topsoil from a new super market and their parking lot. I also stripped 2 different ditchbanks down (spoil from the original ditch being dug probably from the depression era). This was very expensive but that 4 acres is now tiled every 30 foot, drains well and produces as well as the rest of the farm. The roi is slow but worth it in my opinion. | |
