Iowa | I've done some looking since I have a Flex Fuel truck....and it seems like the E-85 prices are WILDLY different even within the same state.
I feel like with corn prices low-ish and oil way up, shouldn't the difference between E85 and regular be more than normal? Here in my part of IA it's only a 70 cent difference or so which is pretty typical of "usual" prices from years gone by. I know of others in IA and other states where the E-85 price starts with a $1.xx. Mine locally is $3.27 today. Are my local stations just ripping us all off?
I can see wholesale prices in IA and they're all WELL under $1/gal. So are Caseys/Kwik Star/Maverik just tripling the price because they can?
I put a few calls into those places to ask. Caseys did have a fuel person call me back. He said they don't actually price E-85 on its own. They just keep it 70 cents under regular or whatever their amount is. So yes they are just ripping us off and making bank?
