Subject: RE: Credit cards vs cash

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
Less than 5%. And knock on wood, we have a 99% recovery rate on bounced checks...but sometimes it takes a year to get paid.

The reason for that is MN State Statute that allows us to "flag" the bad check person's vehicle registration in the system so that NO MN DMV transactions can be done to that vehicle. No tab renewal, no title transfer, nothing. The vehicle does not have a "clear" title until we are made whole by the person coming in with cash to pay for the original transaction along with an extra $30.00 per our posted bad check policy to cover our bank charges and our time for processing the bad check.

ETA...We've had almost more issues with people "contesting" credit card charges than we have people bouncing checks.
