| I have not been able to get an answer from anyone on what is actually going to happen other than a shift in the position of the data. If you have an old receiver, I'm not sure what is going to happen if it cannot use the new datum.
Currently, you can upload your shapefiles to something like QGIS and change the datum, so I don't think it is going be a huge deal. Hopefully the popular software companies will add a simple process to convert all your data if needed.
INCORS has said that they will have a transition period where they will offer the old datum and eventually sunset it. DigiFarm said they will continue to offer the NAD83 datum streams. | |
