Subject: RE: Credit cards vs cash

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

Just my perspective. At restaurants, etc. if there is an up charge for cc I use cash or check. For smaller purchases ($20 or less) I generally use a debit card because if we use our debit card at least 12 times per month the bank has some perks that go along with that. My wife makes a part time job out of tracking all this very closely. Once we have used the debit card the required amount of times she tells me to switch to the credit card so that we get the "cash back rewards." I had some mechanic work done a couple of years ago. On a bill that ran to a little over $1,000 I "saved" about $300 by writing a check rather than using a credit card.

BTW, we pay our credit card bill in full every month. I hate to think of what society and life in this world will become if we become a cashless society. "Big brother" is far too nosy as it is. When everything is digital you won't be able to change your socks without government approval.
