nw NC | Regarding bone hardness and strength, lots of children do not consume milk. Milk has calcium needed for strong bones. A few years ago an orthopedic surgeon was a customer for raw milk from my farm. He told me that his experiences with dealing with patients with bone problems convinced him that the lack of milk in ones diet was the major cause of those patients bone problems, especially older women. Also, he believed that the heating of milk ( pasteurization) caused the calcium to be less available in digestive absorption by the body. | |
