| Liability exposure arises from property you control. By definition then it includes rented ground. The real problem i have with Liability insurance involves the absentee owner scenario. Ones status as an owner without any more evidence that he/she has control of the day to day activities on the farm does not give rise to Liability. That said, a Liability policy not only gives potential indemnity (in the case of a valid claim) but also a defense ( the task of retaining and paying a lawyer to represent you) in a lawsuit (-even one that proves to be without merit). Probably worth getting the policy. Policy = peace of mind.
