In our town I see more and more businesses, especially restaurants, offering a discount if you pay in cash and they don't need to pay what is often a 4% or more fee to the bank on credit card transactions. I like to see that. Otherwise they have to raise prices for everyone to cover the cc processing costs for some of their customers.

Why do you have to raise the price and make everyone pay??? It's simple- cash or check is one price, CC is 3% more.
I recently bought an item for $400 at a retail business. I handed him my CC, but he said he'd have to add 3% to the price if I used plastic. He was fine with a check, so since I had my checkbook along I wrote a check. Never been to that store, and it was 70 miles away.
Loves truck stop advertises 2 prices on their electronic billboard- 1 price for cash, another higher price for card.
Simple, and fair.
