Maryville, MO | Low humidity and low temperature and cloudy weather are all the opposite of what you want. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do to overcome these conditions. However, if you have to do it and have no choice to wait, I’d probably bump my AMS up to 4 lb/ac, be sure to run the full 20 GPA, use maximum rate of liberty you can, and be sure to have at least 1 if not 2 tank partners to control weeds. Liberty doesn’t call for oil, but if you have some other products like round up, metolachlor, insecticides, etc. that are oily products, it helps. We haven’t had the hot dry weather that pushes plants to create that thick waxy coating on the leaves, but the oil will still help the product penetrate into the leaf on these lethargic plants. With that being said, if you have enough oily tank mix partners, don’t mess around adding any, you’ll burn the snot out of the beans.
Even with all that being said, try to follow the 150 rule. Temperature + humidity = 150+. You can get away with being at 140, but less than that is not ideal for liberty. | |
