SWOH | Here’s my thoughts on the matter. My wife brought home a toilet seat a few weeks ago with a built in bidet. She said I didn’t have to use it if I didn’t want to. But she wanted to try it and see if we would use less toilet paper. I was very very skeptical about using it. Just runs off the supply line to the tank, so cold water. Pretty basic. There’s a knob on the side of the seat that controls 2 wands that extend out depending on where you want to power wash. I was very very skeptical about using it. I wasn’t too sure if I was going to get a cold water enema or discover something new about myself that I didn’t want to know or exactly what was going to happen. So I got the seat put on and got it all hooked up and I didn’t use the bidet part. Did I mention I was very very skeptical? So after a few days my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try it. Somehow…it doesn’t feel cold. And somehow, even with fairly good pressure, I don’t really notice it. I use it every time now and don’t really give it second thought. If you want to try one, maybe start out with a cheap seat version first. Ours is non electric, no heat, no dryer, nothing fancy and took about 15 minutes to take the old seat off, install this one and tee it off the supply line with the tee that came with it, and I think it cost about $90. I believe it is a Brondell. If you don’t like it, you just have a weird looking toilet seat. If you like it, you can go a little fancier or expensive or get a whole separate deal. I also found out that when it’s hot and humid out, that little short blast of cool water helps cool me down quite a bit. That was an unexpected bonus. Not shocking like a cold shower, but fairly pleasant.
I was on the no bidet absolutely not no way wagon since I learned what they were 15 or 20 years ago. After using one, I’m sold on it. My wife says I’m evolving. I’m a man and I can change. If I have to. I guess. | |
