Subject: RE: 20" beans vs ???

Over my career I have planted most of my beans with a Kinze planter. While I have planted a lot of beans with pusher units with a Kinze interplant, a few years ago I bought a 36r 20” Kinze and I like it better than the interplant pusher units. For one, I’m not aware of a 60’ Kinze interplant in existence. Plus having all the units behind the bar works better when in some challenging situations. I can complete planting faster with a 60’ planter than a 16/32 interplant. For northern latitudes 20” is a little better for white mold than 15”. I think you would be hard pressed to document any statistically significant yield difference between 15” and 20”. It seems like most guys have changed from planting corn and then switching to beans to planting both at the same time. So 20” works great for a dedicated bean planter.
