Cresco, IA
Went from a 568 with 44k on it to a 605n vermeer. These are all stalks. Put 36k on one and now have a second one. It's a great baler but an absolute pain to work on. The biggest reason we stick with vermeer is because they offer an inline ramp and no one else does. I run the baler and also have to pick them up. If I didn't have to pick them up I would look strongly at other brands. Vermeers don't break teeth. Period. The only time I have to deal with wrap is when it runs out. It is very simple and just plain works. They have capacity too. I could average 50 bales an hour throughout the day with the 568. The lifetime average on the vermeer is just shy of 60. The new Holland baler looks appealing but the wrap up front would suck. 9700 foot rolls of wrap are heavy and I'm not very tall or strong. On a good day I'm doing 6-800 bales and carrying 7 rolls of wrap around to the front of the baler doesn't excite me. I liked the simplicity of the deere.
