Last year I used a cover crop called Ranch Hand from Milborn seeds, I chopped the oats off just after heading out and planted it, took about 40 days, but it got to be about 5 to 6 feet tall before I turn the Cows out, I plan on doing it again this year, this was in Southwest Minnesota
