What hoops? Give me your sale date within 60 days, your out weight, your breakeven, and we put the LRP in place. Its that easy.

And you won't maintain your hedge because margins calls will eat you up and you'll bail out at just the wrong time.

I can’t give a sale date within 60-90 days consistently. I’ve had 1.25 turns of feeders at this point. The .25 was due to a land sale so brought the piggy bank to town and cashed out to buy dirt vs borrowing money. You don’t get that flexibility with LRP without a slap on the wrist. Options seem to be the way to go with cattle for me as I don’t want to give up flexibility. If my put hits at above the market price when I sell it, I’ll probably be happy to take a short position at that price anyways.
