That'd buy yourself a lot of work when you got home!

I switched several years ago to fall calving. We can utilize the irrigation with cornstalks and wheat to raise the cows/calves through the winter much easier than trying to keep the grass green over the summer. We limp the cows through the hot dry cycle that is typical of this tough arid country.

Not sure it's "THE" answer...........but it's what I've been doing. Once again, this year still looks like the dead of winter around here.
