West Central Illinois | Did the same seeded sorghum sudan grass on ground coming out of rowcrop to be pasture. I've had such bad luck planting perennial grasses after corn or beans that I'm giving it a year of buffer with cereal rye planted last fall then sorghum sudan planted last week to graze this summer. Sorghum sudan is pretty forgiving stuff and cheap I think I did 30 lb/acre @ $0.70/lb. so not too much money. Next year probably come back and plant fescue/orchard grass and hopefully have better luck getting a good stand once it's had a year out of corn/beans and been grazed hard and got all that manure on it.
