The discussion at one of the cattle meetings I attended was to sell your beef calves at two weeks old. Pull them off as bottle calf, sell for $1000+, and then breed the cow back. Cow stays in condition and you shorten the cycle between calves.
Lots of problems with that model. $1000 doesn’t pay many bills in today’s world.
