Eastern NE KS
A rare thing occurred with 2 of our cows way back in '66. Back then our id tag was a number stamped brass plate on a light chain around the cow's neck or a cable necklace to hold the id. Being 7 years old Dad kept me from the cows (one was my heifer) but over dinner I heard what happened.

The cows were most likely in estrus and riding each other. One cow got her front leg caught in the chain and choked the other to death. The 1st cow was injured near her pastern and never fully recovered but made salvage burger.

All this was because the chain and its keeper coil ring was too stout and failed to break loose. Soon after this incident, we found Ritchey ear tags. The neck chain or light cable were soon gone from the herd.

Back to today's tech:

At $320/device, I assume the necklace for the device is quite secure. Then again, maybe not because you find lost devices using your app?

I wish you no problems like we experienced way back in the day but I'm leary of the 'necklace' for this device.
