I agree with tc806 but will add, your cows see you and figure another fresh pasture is coming. My cows will act this way in the winter. They hear the tractor start, come to the gate and wait for the next handout, even if they have been fed for the day 4 hours ago.

Can't really call it spoiled but high expectations are on their mind. If the tractor is parked and off, they will go about the business of finishing the day's feeding.

I suspect your cows like the fresh pasture and want you to hear their wishes, but if you get out of sight and sound they will go back to work for you and themselves.
