I believe a 46T Krone would move 20 feet of hay into a windrow and all of it would get moved.
I have the little brother here, 38T. I do not ted. We rake one pass from our 9 foot disc mower-conditioner up close to the adjoining swath (I don't lay the hay out at full width behind the disc mower) after leaving it lay for a day between cutting and raking in the AM on day three. On day 4 the two are put together in the AM while "tough" and bale that evening as the night air comes on and before dew settles.
All of this is in optimal conditions.
This may be clear as mud, but I have raked 2 9 foot swaths on the day after cutting; placing them next to each other but not together to get a poor mans version of tedding. Then they can be put together on the morning of the day you bale.
How do you like that rake? I just bought one and haven’t used it yet. I was hoping it would move decent sized grain hay windrows cut with a Draper head once before baling |
