Sorghum/Sudan probably the cheapest per ton.
I've always dreamed of planting bin run corn in 7.5" rows as a forage crop, but still haven't tried it. 2 bushel per acre planting rate would only be $10 per acre in seed cost.
Local nursery did it as a cover between tree plantings, looked about like sorghum at 3bu or so the acre. Would be cheaper than the millet I bought. |
