Subject: Bred heifer sale

Princeton,IN

Went to the 21st annual West Kentucky Select Bred Heifer Sale today at the Kentucky-Tennessee Livestock Market in Guthrie, Kentucky.
Due dates from mid August to November.
Vaccinated for IBR,PI3,BVD,BRSV,Vobro&Lepto.
All heifers were pelvic-measured,PI tested, screened for physical defects & up to date on health work.
Guaranted bred for 30 days after the sale.
Grouped anywhere from 1 head to 5 head.
Some bred AI, some by the bull.
Some registered, many not.
199 head sold at an average price of $5,820.10

No, I didn't buy any. Guess you could say i didn't have enough nerve.
Lowest price was first group in the ring, 5 head for $4,900 each.
Highest price was 3 head "Red Angus Cross-RA Brown Merlin" says the sale bill, bred AI, due Sept 10, bred to Rebel.  $7,400 a head.

ALL HEIFERS QUALIFY FOR BOTH KY CAP AND TENN TAEP COST SHARE.
I cannot tell you what that means in dollars and cents to the buyers.
