I got lucky and found a mid nineties tandem (48 footer) in exceptional shape for 17k, and it was only 1.5 hours away! Should last me the rest of my life until I talk myself into a 53’! :)
I wouldn’t be afraid to spend some $$ on a good one. Should hold value decent if taken good care of.
