| I think this is a little different than your run of the mill drought. Huge area, irrigation water at historic lows. "Irrigated" land that won't get planted. A huge demand for feed from dairies that have only gotten larger. Know of one that "might" have enough water to run the dairy and maybe a couple of their dozen plus circles. Cow guys will try to hang on, but at some point they will be looking at competing for feed with segments that have more money unless something changes. Corn stalks winter a lot of cows. Between much less corn planted and the demand for silage, it eventually gets real interesting. | |
