So.....all you're really using from the entire trailer is the load cells and scale head? Seems like a lot of goofing around if you're going to modify it that much and not keep it portable. I have no idea what a scale setup costs or what you have into these buggies but just seems like an inefficient way to end up with a platform scale for cattle.

I would think it would make more sense to keep as much as you can of that structure, keep it portable and weigh what will fit in one draft. Put a gate/ramp on each end or make a loading chute on one end to load pots. Weight a few at a time then add it up.

What are those load cells rated for? Hard to tell from the pics but doesn't look like much more than maybe 8k axles, 16k total? Or are those load cells a lot higher capacity than they need to be for that application?

For a little background, I paid $350 for one trailer, and $220 for the other. I needed a scale head for a feedwagon, so I was glad I got two. I priced a new pen scale like in this picture, and it was $18,000.00! I can take these two and build one for less I think.
