Ne Nebraska | Had a landlord sign up about 10 years ago. In a nutshell, they are going to pay you to cut back on grazing. The more improvements you have implemented will help you argue for a slightly higher capacity. This is a 15 year program that they signed up for.
In my case they cut me back from 7 acres per pair to 10 acres. We already had weekly rotational grazing implemented so that helped us graze higher capacity. At time of signup, about 10 years ago, my rent was $350/pair. What they paid was a bit over $600/pair for each pair they cut me back. So from my landlords perspective I can see why it was attractive.
