SE SD | It is a CRP program. Should be able to find payments based on state and county on line. It is a workings land CRP program. Can be grazed during the PNS. Usually states require you meet NRCS prescribed grazing standard. So no over grazing, likely needs to be rotational grazed. Can also be hayed, but cant be hayed until PNS (primary nesting season) is over. It is a little similar to the general CRP program as far as biding it in. Can take lesser payment rate and get more points, put in for 15 years and receive more points. CRP grassland can also help cost share infrastructure, pipelines, tanks, and fences. NRCS will be the one to work with you on that if you need any of that stuff. Can be a good program, Its sad some offices dont utilize it, but its the government, they dont get paid to work harder. The program is also a 10-15 year program. Not forever.
