Here...let me put it in terms you can understand. In his original post he said that he backgrounds 100 head a year in addition to the 45ish he raises. There is nothing like a consistent mixer ration for calves at a bunk to feed them efficiently and to get gain, provided he has some kind of wet feed to make it work. If it doesn't work, like Hick said above, sell the mixer. I don't get the 2.5 miles being SO far away, anybody that has very many head to feed generally has them somewhat spread out
