Western Ontario
If you’re in northern Kentucky I’m guessing mud can be an issue. Just brain storming but are any of your hay barns a candidate to retrofit to feed your own calves and the ones you back ground. Instead of dry hay go to wrapping it, less days to make and higher quality, ear corn is awesome feed but for that weight of calves you’d make a ton of feed with 20 acres of corn silage, that and the wrapped hay would make a pretty nice ration in a vertical mixer. Throw some straw in for the cow ration to stretch it iut or maybe you have a local byproduct you could make work, lots of flexibility with a vertical.
